BIOL 341 Invertebrate Zoology

A comprehensive examination of the morphology, natural history, and evolutionary relationships of invertebrate phyla. Attention will be given to the roles of specific invertebrate phyla in representative ecosystems, as well as how introduced invertebrate taxa affect their new ecosystems. Exposure to microscopic and preserved specimens from most of the invertebrate phyla will be integrated into the lecture. A primary focus of the course will be on primary literature that relates to invertebrate animals. This course is part of the organismal biology track. PRQ: BIOL201, or permission of instructor.
