EDEC 426 Practicum for Early Childhood
The practicum experience for Early Childhood Majors focuses upon observation in home-based family childcare centers, assistance to the childcare provider, and actual teaching and supervision of children under the supervision of a home care provider and a university supervisor. Students will be expected to demonstrate competency in the following areas: Human Growth and Development; Health, Safety, and Well-Being; Observation and Assessment; Curriculum and Program Design; Interactions, Environments, and Relationships; Family and Community Relationships; Personal and Professional Development; Advocacy; Technology, Business, and Family Childcare Environmental Management.
