SPED 559 Transition & Students with Disabilities

XL: SPED 359 This course examines individual transition planning for students with disabilities. This course will review legal mandates for transition planning, transition components of the IEP, the promotion of individual determination, and the role of interagency collaboration in transition planning. Candidates will learn how to assess students and plan instructional programs to address the recreation/leisure, domestic, community, and career/vocational needs of students at critical junctures in their lives. PRQ: SPED 542; SPED 546; SPED 555; SPED 556; SPED 557; and passing score on the Illinois Basic Skills Exam, or the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP), or the ACT Plus Writing/SAT composite.
