Undergraduates in Graduate Courses

Ordinarily, students must complete all requirements for a bachelor’s degree before enrolling in graduate-level courses at Rockford University. However, with the approval of the major advisor and the relevant graduate program director, students may enroll in up to six credits of graduate work in the final semester of their senior year if they have no more than eight credit hours to complete for their bachelor’s degree, and if they have earned a GPA of at least 3.0 (“B”) for the preceding three semesters. Students may not use graduate credits to complete undergraduate requirements.

Students who are seniors at another college within six credits of a bachelor’s degree may be permitted to enroll in graduate courses at Rockford University if their grade point averages are at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale). They must have taken the Graduate Record Examination or Graduate Management Admissions Test, and must have met all other criteria for admission to graduate study. Graduate credit will be held in escrow until they receive their bachelor’s degrees.
