International Admission
Admission for international students to Rockford University is determined after an applicant has submitted the following materials for review to the appropriate Office of Admission.
- Completed international application for admission
- $50 USD application fee
- High school and/or college transcripts.*
- Evidence of English language proficiency as demonstrated by one of the following:
- Appropriate TOEFL, IELTS, ACT, SAT, or GMAT scores
- Appropriate TOEFL scores (all scores reflect Internet-based test)
- ≥79: Normal admission (≥213 computer-based, ≥550 paper-based)
- 77 – 78: Conditional Admission (210 computer-based, 547 paper-based)
- Appropriate IELTS (Academic Version) scores
- ≥ 6.0 band score: Normal Admission
- 5.5 band score: Conditional Admission
- Appropriate ACT scores
- ≥19 (No sub-scores less than 17): Normal admission
- Appropriate SAT scores
- ≥990 (April 2016 test date or later): Normal admission
- Recommendations and personal essay
- One or more years completed at an English-speaking institution
- Two letters for an undergraduate applicant
- Three letters for a graduate applicant
*Rockford University reserves the right to request that non-U.S. academic credentials are evaluated by a NACES member evaluator.
- Proof of financial support with the following documents:
- Official copy of bank statement issued by the financial institution within 30 days of application date showing required funding amount for program and personal expenses outlined in admissions documents.
Or
- Official signed letter from a bank official confirming existence of bank account and funds to be used for a student’s program and personal expenses outlined in admissions documents issued within 30 days of application.
- In cases when the financial documents are not in the name of the student a notarized affidavit of support from the non-U.S. residing financial sponsor or for the U.S.-residing financial sponsors the completion of the I-134 form which is available on the USCIS website.
