Normally there are three electives each fall and spring semester, and two in the summer. To obtain an MBA without a specific concentration a student can choose any three of the following ten electives:

BSAD 685: Different topics are taught each semester; more than one class can be taken as long as each topic is different. Accounting/CPA Track (36 credits)
The Accounting/CPA is an MBA track designed for those individuals who want to acquire the necessary course work and hours to qualify to sit for the CPA exam in Illinois. All courses are three credit hours.
The student must take the following accounting courses at Rockford University or equivalent courses at another institution in order to be able to sit for the exam. These courses can be undergraduate courses or taken at the graduate level. All regular PRQ for the MBA program also apply to the Accounting/CPA Track. If these courses are taken at the graduate level as a part of the MBA program, they can be used as electives.

Public and Not-for-Profit Track (39 credits)
All regular PRQ for the MBA program also apply to the Public and Not-for-Profit track. This concentration is designed for those people who are interested in working within a public or not-for-profit organization.
Required Core Courses
In addition, students seeking the concentration in this area would need to either have two years of work experience in a not-for-profit or government position, or be required to take a three-hour internship at a not-for-profit or government agency.
