For more than 50 years, Rockford University has provided opportunities for graduate study. Our graduate programs offer a sound academic tradition that can be tailored to suit individual needs. Small classes and a professional, experienced and dedicated faculty in Business and Education provide our graduate students with a quality learning experience.
Since 1952, the Rockford University Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree has established a proud tradition as a teacher of teachers. Our MAT graduates have distinguished themselves as educational leaders throughout the nation. The Education Department offers programs for students with or without their Professional Educator License (PEL). There are tracks in Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, K-12, Middle School, Reading, English-as-a-Second Language and Bilingual, and Special Education. A thesis option is also available for non-teaching degrees.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree began in 1980 after extensive study of the needs of the Rockford area business and corporate community. With these needs in mind, our MBA program has become a vital and integral part of both the community and the University. The MBA also includes a track for Accounting/CPA. Concentrations are offered in Entrepreneurship, Finance, Health Administration, Management, Marketing, Project Management, and Strategic studies. In addition, the department offers a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
