BIOL 360 Virology

This course is designed to discuss an overview of topics associated with viruses. These topics include the basic structure, composition, and life cycles of both bacterial and animal viruses. There will be a strong emphasis on human viruses, mechanisms of how they cause disease, and host defenses against viral infections. Additional topics include viral associations with emerging diseases, gene therapy, and cancer. This course is part of the cellular and molecular biology track.
