EDEC 248 Child Development

This course provides an overview of physical, motor, social, linguistic, emotional, cognitive, and moral development of the child from conception through age 7 and how teachers can foster development in these areas using various instructional strategies and curricular decisions. In addition, this course will focus on conditions that affect children's learning and development, such as risk factors and resiliency, developmental variations, temperament, rate of maturation, innate abilities, culture, family, and community.
