International Admission

Admission for international students to Rockford University is determined after an applicant has submitted the following materials:

    Completed international application for admission

    $50 USD application fee

    High school and/or college transcripts. Rockford University reserves the right to request that non U.S. academic credentials are evaluated by a NACES member evaluator.

    Evidence of English language proficiency as demonstrated by one of the following:

    TOEFL, IELTS, ACT, or SAT scores

    TOEFL scores 

    ≥79: Full admission (≥213 computer-based, ≥550 paper-based)

    77 – 78: Conditional Admission (210 computer-based, 547 paper-based)

    IELTS (Academic Version) scores

    ≥ 6.0 band score: Full Admission

    5.5 band score: Conditional Admission

    ACT scores

    ≥19 (No sub-scores less than 17): Full admission

    SAT scores

    ≥990 (April 2016 test date or later): Full admission

 

    One or more years successfully completed at an English-speaking secondary institution or one or more years in a college pathway program in an English-speaking country.

    Recommendations 

 

      • Two letters of recommendation

 

     OR

      • Two completed Rockford University recommendation forms

 

    Personal essay

    Proof of ability to support yourself financially support by providing one of the following documents:

      • Official copy of a bank statement

      • Official copy of a letter or certificate that is issues and signed and/or stamped by a financial  

         institution

      • Official copy of a loan document showing that the applicant has a loan available for the amount

        needed to study in the U.S.     

      • Official copy of a letter stating that an applicant will receive funds in the form of a grant

      • Official copy of a document from the applicant’s government stating that they will receive

         financial support from their government for study in the U.S.

 

    In cases when the financial documents are not in the name of the applicant: 

    A notarized Rockford University affidavit of support form signed by the non-U.S. residing financial sponsor

OR

      • An I-134 Affidavit of Support form* signed by the U.S. based sponsor.

            • U.S. based sponsors are required to use the current version of the I-134 Affidavit of Support

              form available on the USCIS website: www.uscis.gov/i-134

 

Notes:

    Financial documents submitted to Rockford University must be less than 30 days old at the time of

       submission to the university.

    Funds must be liquid funds that can be withdrawn at any time for the required minimum amount of

    funds necessary for one year of study at Rockford University.

    Funds deposited in annuities, IRAs, retirement funds or other investments may be

      used if the account holder can demonstrate that the amount needed for study can be withdrawn from

      that fund at any time.

     The U.S. Department of State & the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s policies and

        practices may change at any time. Applicants are encouraged to review their local U.S.

       Consulate’s website for additional information and the Department of Homeland Security’s Study

       in the States website.
