CHEM 321 Methods of Analysis
This course provides an introduction to the general principles of analysis in the natural and physical sciences. As such, it will serve as a valuable preparation for undergraduate research in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or any science. Several common types of instrumentation will be used to support the analysis of samples. Students will gain proficiency in the fundamentals of the measurement process, including sample preparation, the use of negative and positive controls, and the attendant reliability and uncertainty of such measurements. An introduction to formal Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) will also be addressed. Lecture 3 hours, lab 3 hours PRQ: Chem 106
