EDUC 661 Teacher Leadership
As teacher leaders, we have accepted an explicit responsibility: to improve the conditions and outcomes of all those for whom we care â€" students, teachers, families and communities. We are called to imagine better through designing for equity, response to daily dilemmas that promote justice and disrupt inequitable practices, and critical reflection that results in improved decision-making for those within our care. This is a complex challenge and must be taken up with the input/participation/feedback/confirmation of those impacted by our decisions. In this course, we will examine the agency that teachers have enacted to do this work in current and historical urban contexts.
This course is for students enrolled in the M.Ed. in Urban Education Program only.
