NURS 201 Foundations of Person-Centered Care

This course introduces the student to the foundational skills of the professional nurse. Course content includes the application of the nursing process, and critical thinking, communication, and therapeutic interventions in the provision of person-centered care. Concepts, values, skills and competencies inherent in professional nursing are explored. The primary focus is on the adult client of diverse cultural backgrounds. PRQ: BIOL 209, CHEM 104 or CHEM 105, PSYC 100, and MATH 223, and RHET 102. Concurrent enrollment of NURS 202 or NURS 273. Scheduled: Fall and Spring yearly Meets: N Lab fee required.
