NURS 311 Concepts of Adult Health Nursing I
Current evidence and clinical practice standards focusing on nursing care of adult clients with acute and complex health conditions will be examined. This course is designed to develop the student’s knowledge and skills in preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative, pain, fluid imbalances, musculoskeletal problems, inflammation, wounds, integumentary issues, hematology, cancer, end-of-life care, nutrition, obesity, GI, liver, pancreas, renal, kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, endocrine, female and male reproductive problems. The emphasis is on enhancing critical thinking skills necessary for making sound nursing judgments and the demonstration of self-direction, confidence and competence in providing nursing care for the adult client with medical-surgical health alterations.
PRQ: NURS 306, NURS 308, NURS 309, NURS 313, and NURS 373.
Concurrent enrolment in NURS 309 and NURS 313 is permitted.
