CHEM 305 Biophysical Chemistry: Kinetics & Thermo

An exploration of the microscopic and bulk properties of molecules, with particular application to biomolecules including proteins, amino acids, and carbohydrates. Topics will include reaction kinetics, gas laws, classical thermodynamics, phase equilibria, and chemical potential. Lab experiments reinforce concepts from lecture, and emphasize proper reporting of experimental results.

PRQ: CHEM 106, PHYS 202 or PHYS 106, MATH 230, or consent of instructor.
CO-RQ: Lecture 3 hours, lab 3 hours.
Scheduled: Spring, even years.
