EDRD 315 Foundations of Literacy for Middle and High School

(XL: EDRD 515) This course explores literacy development in middle and high school grades. Students will learn the cognitive foundations and progression of literacy and use this knowledge to propose effective, research-based instruction, intervention, and assessments. This course provides general literacy strategies that speak across disciplines, drawing upon best-practices and developmental psychology to support the literacy process. Engagement, assets, and diversity are drawn upon as cornerstones to effective literacy instruction.
