HSRV 365 Death, Grief, and the Healing Journey

Loss, grief, and mourning are part of the human condition. Death impacts not only the dying individual, but those who are a part of their lives as well. This course will explore the meaning of death within family and society, the physiological and psychological processes of dying, and various styles of mourning as bound by societal and familial cultures. Students will gain or enhance their understanding of support and/or interventions that can help their clients, as well as themselves, heal from the losses they incur.
