SOCI 312 Sociology of Gender

Using a sociological perspective, this course examines gender as a social construction. It explores the social experiences of people of various genders. This class will examine issues such as the impact of sex and gender on socialization, intimate and family relationships, paid work, violence, health, and social change. The class will be attentive to how gender intersects with other social identities such as race, social class, and sexual orientation.
