Ancient and Medieval Studies Minor

(18-21 credits)

The Ancient and Medieval Studies Minor provides students with a balanced and varied combination of coursework about ancient and medieval cultures, languages, and civilizations. It allows students from different departments to learn about and appreciate the many achievements of ancient and medieval civilizations and cultures. Students who want to enhance their appreciation of world history and culture, aspire to go to graduate school, or plan to teach language, religion, philosophy, and/or world history and civilization, will find the Ancient and Medieval Studies minor engaging and beneficial. You will develop your critical thinking abilities via historical and philosophical perspectives, language and textual analysis, and study of the reception and influence of ancient civilizations upon subsequent periods.
