NURS 311 Concepts of Adult Health Nursing I

Current evidence and clinical practice standards focusing on nursing care of adult clients with acute and complex health conditions will be examined. This course is designed to develop the student's knowledge and skills in preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative, pain, fluid and electrolytes, inflammation, obesity, gastrointestinal, liver, pancreas, renal, diabetes mellitus, and endocrine. The emphasis is on enhancing critical thinking skills necessary for making sound nursing judgments and the demonstration of self-direction, confidence, and competence in providing nursing care for the adult client with medical-surgical health alterations.
