Transfer Policy Between On-Campus Undergraduate Program and RU Online Program

Students may transfer between the on-campus Undergraduate program and the RU Online program only once during their academic career at Rockford University. Additional transfer between these programs will not typically be permitted. This policy is intended to support academic consistency, degree completion, and the integrity of each program.

How to request a transfer from on-campus Undergraduate to RU Online, or vice-versa:

  1. Students must consult with their Academic Advisor to understand the potential impact on their degree requirements and career goals.
  2. Student must consult with the Office of Admission to understand the following:
    a.  Tuition and fee differences
    b.  Financial aid eligibility and institutional scholarship status
    c.  Access to campus-based services, resources, and/or extracurriculars
  3. After consulting with their Academic Advisor and Admissions, students may submit their application to transfer programs via the standard Rockford University application: www.rockford.edu/apply

Approval is not guaranteed and will be based on the student’s academic standing, program eligibility, and alignment with their educational and career goals. Students approved for transfer will be subject to the academic policies and degree requirements associated with their new program and catalog year.
