THEA 320 Advanced Theatrical Design

A lecture-laboratory course in the Advanced Design elements of Scenic, Costume, and Lighting design, industry standards, safety, and management.

Students are introduced to advanced Design Techniques and theatrical standards of Scenic, Costume, and Lighting Design. It emphasizes proper industry-accepted nomenclature of systems, tools, materials, and integrated infrastructure and introduces the steps involved in larger design processes. It also highlights common tasks and offers a working understanding of each department. This course highlights and emphasizes understanding and creation of technical documentation for each department. Safe working practices and collaboration with other members of the creative team are focused on throughout the course's projects. This course is broken out into 3 sections to Costumes, Scenic, and Lighting.
