This course introduces students to the essential skills and techniques of Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) as applied to the field of theatre design. Focusing on industry-standard software, students will learn how to create detailed and accurate technical drawings for set design, lighting, and other stage elements, providing the necessary foundation for the design process in live theatre productions.

Through hands-on projects and guided instruction, students will explore the role of CAD in translating creative concepts into precise, workable designs for staging, including ground plans, elevations, section views, and detailed construction drawings. The course will emphasize visual clarity, dimension accuracy, and communication of design intent, as well as the integration of digital tools into the overall design process.
