SPED 349 Communication and Language Disorders

This course provides an overview of typical and atypical communication and language development, as well as language and communication disorders and delays in students from birth to age 21 years of age with disability across levels of severity. The course will address strategies for creating an enriching environment to stimulate language use and to facilitate spoken and written language development and generalization of appropriate communication and social skills in a variety of settings. PRQ: SPED 342 and SPED 346 and passing score on the Illinois Basic Skills Exam or the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP) or the ACT Plus Writing/SAT composite. Meets: N. Experience Hours: 2
