Secondary and K-12 Education
The Illinois State Board of Education has approved secondary endorsement programs at Rockford University in Biology, Chemistry, English, History, Mathematics, and Theatre Arts, along with K-12 endorsement programs in French, German (for MAT students only), Spanish, Physical Education, and Visual Arts.
The secondary and K-12 minor programs prepare teachers for middle grades (with additional coursework) and high school teaching in the specified content areas. Students must complete a major with a minimum of 32 credits and the appropriate minor course work in secondary or K-12 education, in addition to satisfying the all-university General Education requirements and general education state licensure requirements.
