International Students
Rockford University recruits international students. Admissibility is determined after an applicant has submitted the following materials for review to the Graduate Office.
- Completed international application for admission
- $75 USD non-refundable application fee
- Official copy of U.S. university transcript for students who have competed a bachelor’s degree in the U.S.
- Official copy of international university transcript for student who have completed a bachelor’s degree outside of the U.S.
- Any transcripts, which are in a language other than English, need to be submitted with an official English translation
- Rockford University reserves the right to require a NACES evaluation of any non-US transcript
- GRE or GMAT scores
- Students may be admitted provisionally to either of the graduate programs by completing all requirements except the GRE or GMAT. Students will be required to complete one of these exams by the end of their first semester.
- Appropriate TOEFL or IELTS
- Appropriate TOEFL scores (all scores reflect Internet-based test)
- 79: Normal admission (213 computer-based, 550 paper-based)
- 71 – 78: Conditional admission (210 computer-based, 547 paper-based)
- Appropriate IELTS scores of at least 6.5
- Essay- tell us what your educational goals are, and must be at least one full page long
- Three letters of recommendation
- Proof of financial support
- Official letter from bank official confirming existence of bank account and funds to be used for settlement of educational expenses
- Official copy of bank statement showing current balance of account referenced in the bank official’s letter
- Bank loan demonstrating that the applicant will receive sufficient funds to pay for one year of study and living expenses while in the United States
- If the funds are not from the applicant’s personal bank account, then an affidavit of support from the financial sponsor is required.
- For applicants whose financial sponsor is outside the U.S., a completed and notarized Rockford University affidavit of support needs to be submitted with financial documents.
- For applicants whose financial sponsor is a U.S. resident or citizen, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Form I-134 affidavit of support needs to be completed.
