International Admission

Admission for international students to Rockford University is determined after an applicant has submitted the following materials for review to the appropriate Office of Admission.
  • Completed international application for admission
  • $50 USD application fee
  • High school and/or college transcripts. Rockford University reserves the right to request that non U.S. academic credentials are evaluated by a NACES member evaluator.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency as demonstrated by one of the following:
    • TOEFL, IELTS, ACT, or SAT scores
      • TOEFL scores 
        • ≥79: Full admission (≥213 computer-based, ≥550 paper-based)
        • 77 – 78: Conditional Admission (210 computer-based, 547 paper-based)
      • IELTS (Academic Version) scores
        • ≥ 6.0 band score: Full Admission
        • 5.5 band score: Conditional Admission
      • ACT scores
        • ≥19 (No sub-scores less than 17): Full admission
      • SAT scores
        • ≥990 (April 2016 test date or later): Full admission
    • One or more years successfully completed at an English-speaking institution
  • Recommendations 
    • Two letters for an undergraduate applicant
  • Personal essay
  • Proof of financial support by providing the following documents:
    • Official copy of a financial document such as a bank statement, certificate or signed letter issued by a financial institution no more than 30 days old by the time of application demonstrating that the applicant has on deposit or available in liquid funds the required minimum amount of funds necessary for one year of study.
    • In cases when the financial documents are not in the name of the applicant: 
      • A notarized Rockford University affidavit of support form signed by the non-U.S. residing financial sponsor

  • An I-134 Affidavit of Support form* signed by the U.S. resident sponsor.
