BSAD 656 Healthcare Finance & Reimbursement

Students will learn the foundation of revenue sources, and the variety of expense calculations, which occur within healthcare organizations. The academic focus will build on traditional financial statements, and include an understanding of organizational cost centers, governmental and third party reimbursement programs, as well as financial planning and capital, and key financial indicators. Topics will include budgeting, inventory control, asset management, payer systems, accounts receivable, managed and charity care, and long-term financing and capital investments. The course will include real-world examples of financial problems and solutions, the latest financial ratio standards, and an evaluation of current governmental healthcare environments.
