SPED 359 Transition & Students with Disabilities

XL: SPED 559 This course examines individual transition planning for students with disabilities. This course will review legal mandates for transition planning, transition components of the IEP, the promotion of individual determination, and the role of interagency collaboration in transition planning. Candidates will learn how to assess students and plan instructional programs to address the recreation/leisure, domestic, community, and career/vocational needs of students at critical junctures in their lives. PRQ: SPED 342; SPED 346; SPED 355; SPED 356; SPED 357; and passing score on the Illinois Basic Skills Exam, or the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP), or the ACT Plus Writing/SAT composite.
