English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement

The ESL Endorsement minor is only available to students seeking a Professional Educator License (PEL) or those students who already have a PEL.

Students must meet the following requirements issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in addition to the course requirements below:

1. A valid Illinois professional educator license (PEL) prior to issuance of the endorsement
2. ESL clinical experience totaling 100 clock hours or three months teaching experience with ESL students
