PSYC 340 Health Psychology
Health psychology applies the scientific study of human behavior and mental activity to physical health and well-being. This course will introduce students to major theories, models, and interventions that have emerged in the field of health psychology in the service of promoting human health and preventing disease, as well as new areas of research and practice that will support students in becoming critical consumers of health information. Students will be invited to explore personal and practical applications of the information. Students will gain an understanding of the interactions among biological, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, social, economic, and cultural factors related to human health and well-being.
