BIOL 318 Paleoecology

Students will assist the Burpee Museum of Natural History crew for ten days in their search for fossils at sites in southeastern Montana. Evening lectures will cover topics related to the geology, paleontology, and ecology of the site 66 million years ago just before the extinction of the non-avian dinosaurs. Once out of the field, students will spend one lab period a week at the Burpee Museum assisting the staff in specimen preparation and study. This course is part of the conservation and wildlife track.
