EDEC 538 Child Growth and Development

(XL: EDEC 338) This course provides an overview of physical, motor, social, linguistic, emotional, cognitive, and moral development of the child from conception through age 7. In addition, this course will focus on conditions that affect children's learning and development, such as risk factors and resiliency, developmental variations, temperament, rate of maturation, innate abilities, culture, family, and community. Focus of this class will be on the role the early childhood teacher candidate has in creating supportive relationships to foster emotional, social, and behavioral development of young children in a variety of settings.
