HSRV 220 Casework, Management, & Client Advocacy

Human Services requires an understanding of the developmental issues within a culture as impacted by socioeconomic, political, familial, and interpersonal climates. These changes require skills to support clients in new ways as they navigate a system that can seem unfriendly and confusing.  This course will approach the various roles in human services both as individuals and as part of a team.  Students explore the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to develop into culturally competent service providers while integrating their personal experiences in the field. Attention will be given to ethical responses to the individual and group needs of specific vulnerable populations.
