MATH 325 Theory of Numbers
(XL: MATH 525) Topics include properties of integers, Euclid's algorithm, divisibility, primes, congruences, quadratic residues and reciprocity, number theoretic functions, Diophantine equations and Gaussian integers. Emphasis is on rigor; the theorems of Fermat, Euler, Wilson, Lagrange and Gauss are established.
PRQ: MATH 300 or consent of instructor.
