THEA 112 Stage Combat II-Single Sword

This course makes swashbuckling fun and a practical skill to master, as well as a skill that can help get an actor work. A student will learn the cuts, parries, footwork, and attacks that form the basics to swordplay performed on stage. With a firm emphasis on safety, these techniques will be taught, rehearsed, and then incorporated into a scene from an established play. At the conclusion of the course, students will have the opportunity to take the Society of American Fight Directors actor/combatant Certification Test in Single Sword Stage Combat.

PRQ: THEA 110 or permission by instructor.
