Career Development

Professional staff are available to help students determine a career best suited to their skills, abilities, values, personality, and interests. The Career Development staff works closely with academic advisors to link students’ career goals with the academic majors and courses most likely to support their aspirations. Career readiness programs prepare students to begin their first career or change to a new one. Such programs include career assessments, workshops, one-on-one resume and cover letter development, mock interviews, job search assistance, alumni networking events, and internships. Additionally, employment opportunities are available through Career Development including the annual Rockford University Career and Internship Fair held each fall and spring in partnership with Rock Valley College.

Rockford University uses Handshake as its official resume and job posting service. Students and Alumni can create their account profile at joinhandshake.com to:

  • Search for all Full-time, Part-time, Internship/Co-op job opportunities
  • Create and upload your resume to make available to employers
  • Access event announcements, career advice documents, articles and more
