Lang Center for Health, Wellness, Counseling, and Disability Services

Immunizations

Lang Center is a strong advocate for immunization against diseases that affect college students and are responsible for compliance of all state mandated vaccines. Lang Center offers the state mandated immunizations for diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella and can assist with acquiring the meningitis vaccination. The recommended hepatitis B and influenza vaccinations as well as tuberculosis screenings are also offered to assist students with compliance to the requirements of specific programs. Providing proof of immunizations is an Illinois state law and will impact a student’s ability to register for classes. The immunization policy and complete compliance information (with printable forms) are available on the University’s website.

Health and Counseling

In addition to providing immunizations and screenings, nurses are available at Lang Center to assist with access to treatment for minor illness and injury.  Nurses will provide support and referral for all students.  A local family practice physician provides clinic hours one afternoon per week for treatment and physical examinations.  Counselors are available at no charge to students to help with the many emotional and psychological issues that students may experience during their college years.  The Lang Counselors are a confidential resource for students who may have experienced a sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence or situations of harassment or stalking.  The Lang Counselors work closely with community agencies and the University Title IX team to provide support for all students, faculty and staff when dealing with these issues.
