ENGL 586 Shakespearean Tragedy
With an eye toward ways Shakespearean works are appropriated today, this course studies the early modern literary, cultural, and economic influences that helped produce them in their day. We will explore Shakespearean plays and sonnets through online discussion boards, close reading, film clips, secondary sources, and video presentations. As a graduate course the focus will be on analytical thinking about texts, creating arguments, and practicing advanced writing through analytical argument.
