CSCI 356 Introduction to Networking

This course introduces the fundamentals of networking, device communication, media, and protocols, including the OSI and the TCP/IP models, and the TCP/IP suite of protocols such as TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, ARP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP and more. The student will learn how to create and set up local area networks (LANs) for homes or businesses and how to configure different networking devices, including PCs, printers, routers, servers, etc. Additionally, the student will learn how to use various tools to test and troubleshoot network connectivity through hands-on labs.
