Accounting, B.S.
The Bachelor of Science in Accounting provides a broad-based education with a focus on accounting. Students gain a solid foundation in the field of accounting and familiarity with various accounting procedures. Students learn how to record financial transactions and make managerial decisions using accounting data. They analyze and develop financial statements. Career opportunities for accounting majors include positions in auditing firms, corporate accounting, taxation, consulting and advisory services, and in governmental and not-for-profit entities.

General Education Courses (33 credits)
Composition - 6 credits (2 courses)
Social Sciences - 9 credits (3 courses)
Arts/Humanities - 12 credits (4 courses)
Science/Math - 6 credits, including 3 credits in Statistics (RUOL 230)
Core Courses (22 credits)
Required Major Courses (39 credits)
No more than 15 credits allowed in transfer for major.
Elective Major Courses (12 credits)
Students should choose one of the following options for fulfilling elective major courses.
General Option (12 credits)
Students who do not intend to prepare for the CPA exam after graduation should choose this option.
