SOCI 326 Social Science Theory
A close examination of the work of leading classical theorists from Comte to Parsons with particular emphasis
on Marx, Durkheim, Weber and Simmel tracing their influence on contemporary sociological thinkers. Analysis
of current sociological work from the functional, conflict, symbolic interactionist, exchange, and
ethnomethodological perspectives. B.S. students should take this course before their senior year.
PRQ: SOCI 100 or 150, 295, or consent of instructor.
