BIOL 150 Principles of Biology

An introduction to the basic principles of biology. This course focuses on the cellular and molecular processes responsible for the function of all life on earth. Topics include biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, basic developmental biology, ecology, and an introduction to evolutionary theory. Laboratory sessions will focus on hypothesis development, experimental design, and hypothesis testing within the context of material being covered in lecture. This course is focused toward those pursuing a major in the sciences and is the first course of the core sequence for a biology major or minor.
