Although they do not count toward hours required for graduation, the courses are counted when considering students’ semester course loads.
There is no tuition charge for matriculated Rockford University students. Other CLS services are free of charge for all Rockford University undergraduate students.
Center for Learning Strategies (CLS) Courses
The CLS offers courses to help students enhance their reading, math, and learning strategies. Although they do not count toward hours required for graduation, the courses are counted when considering students’ semester course loads.
The CLS offers multiple courses including the following:
Enrollment in these courses is limited to undergraduates only.
There is no tuition charge for matriculated Rockford University students. Other CLS services are free of charge for all Rockford University undergraduate students. In addition, CLS offers courses to assist those students enrolled in the University’s English language programs including:

The CLS also offers the following services for Rockford University Students:
- Peer tutoring, Gateway tutoring, professional tutoring, and walk-in tutoring
- Diagnostic testing
- GRE, GMAT, ACT/TAPS, NCLEX workshops
- Accommodations for documented special needs
