CRMJ 330 Drugs: Law & Society

This course applies sociological and social psychological explanations of drug-using behaviors and of legal and medical control of drugs. Topics include changes in the legal status of drugs, cross-cultural and historical variations in the control of drugs, and the nature of drug use in contemporary society. Emphasis will be placed on the difference between drug use and abuse and the link between drugs and crime.
