EDEC 382 Families, Children, Communities
This course focuses on the ways teachers, caregivers, and parents work collaboratively to the benefit of children ages birth to eight. This course will cover developing relationships with families and community partners, family participation in home and center-based childcare settings, advocacy, and available resources for families. The course will also explore the complex nature and differences of families and communities, and their impact upon children's learning and development, as well as factors that affect young children, including divorce, abuse and neglect, and illness and death of family members.
