EDUC 300 Introduction to Teaching and Learning

(XL: EDUC 500) This course examines concepts and principles that guide teaching and learning in contemporary education settings for students considering the teaching profession as a career. An overview of the Rockford University teacher education program expectations; State of Illinois program and licensure requirements; and the impact of local, state, and national curricular learning standards, including Common Core, will be introduced. The course requires completion of a minimum of 30 field experience hours, a criminal background check (fee paid by student), a tuberculosis test (fee paid by student), and proof of immunizations.
