PSYC 357 Psychological Disorders

Psychological health exists on a continuum. In this course students will learn ways of defining psychological abnormality and describing psychological disorders. With an emphasis on the integrative approach, students will develop an understanding of psychological disorder etiology, lived experiences, and treatments through reading, discussion, presentation, and community-based learning. Students will gain knowledge about mental illness symptomatology and diagnoses, understanding of the various sociocultural and biological factors influencing mental health, and enhanced communication skills.
