EDEC 320 Infant Toddler Growth and Development

(XL: EDEC 520)  This course provides a solid foundation of infant and toddler characteristics, care, and education based on current theory and research. Students will examine the health, safety, and nutritional needs of infants and toddlers as well as appropriate routines and developmentally appropriate activities to support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth. The use of formal and informal observation and assessment to guide decision-making and to inform instructional planning will be examined. The role of the teacher in facilitating growth through integrated play experiences will be emphasized.
