EDEC 362 Observation and Assessment in EC

(XL: EDEC 562)  This course examines developmentally appropriate assessment of cognitive, social-emotional, motor, communication, academic, and adaptive skills of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, including children with special needs and children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This course will prepare students to use a variety of formal and informal assessment tools, including the purposes of assessment (screening, referral, instructional planning, and progress monitoring), data analysis, and data-based decision making. Assessments of school, home, and community learning environments will also be addressed.
